ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission (EC) has summoned a special meeting on the allegations levelled by Prime Minister Imran Khan during his address to the nation.

Sources said that the Election Commission of Pakistan has convened a special meeting tomorrow on the statement of Prime Minister Imran Khan regarding the Election Commission.

In his address to the nation, the Prime Minister accused the Election Commission of undermining democracy.

Sources said that the meeting chaired by the Chief Election Commissioner will review the statement of Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Election Commission will issue a response to the statement of the Prime Minister within the constitutional limits.

It is to be noted that the Prime Minister while addressing the nation had made a statement on the Election Commission to harm democracy.

He also criticized the Supreme Court for opposing open voting and identifiable ballot papers for Senate elections.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had said in his address that the Election Commission had saved those who did horse-trading in the Senate. Due to the Election Commission, the dignity of democracy in the country has been tarnished.
