In Myanmar, the army in its severest crackdown against anti-coup protesters killed at least 34 people in the various cities.

This is the highest death toll since military takeover on 1st February.

The gory incident is described as bloodiest day by the UN which occurred the day after the neighbouring countries called for restraint.

The protesters were demanding end of military rule, restoration of elected government and release of countries elected government leaders – including Aung San Suu Kyi – who were overthrown and detained in the coup.
