Pakistan Democratic Moment (PDM) has approved the name of PPP leader Yousuf Raza Gilani for the chairmanship of the Senate.
The PDM summit was chaired by JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman in which the PML-N proposed to nominate Yousuf Raza Gilani as chairman Senate.
PML-N said that PPP will nominate Yousuf Raza Gilani as its candidate and will give its full support.
In the PDM meeting, PML-N’s lifelong leader Nawaz Sharif said that he congratulated Yousuf Raza Gilani on his glorious victory.
He said that Bilawal Bhutto was right that Gilani’s success would have an impact on the country’s politics.
He said that the victory of Yousuf Raza Gilani has hollowed out the roots of the rulers, the people are celebrating the victory of Yousuf Raza Gilani as the defeat of PTI and selectors.
It may be recalled that in the Senate elections, the joint PDM candidate Yousuf Raza Gilani had defeated the government candidate Hafeez Sheikh.
The government has nominated Sadiq Sanjrani, the current chairman of the upper house, for the chairmanship of the Senate.
