ISLAMABAD: The international conference conducted by the United Nations and Pakistan regarding the country’s reconstruction after the destruction caused by floods will be held in Geneva tomorrow. Pakistan will present a document prepared with the help of the United Nations, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, and the European Union on the need for post-disaster assistance.
Heads of state, ministers, and representatives of dozens of countries have been invited to the conference. In addition to this, numerous international financial and development institutions, representatives of the private sector, and NGOs have also been invited to the conference in Geneva.
Pakistan will appeal for help in the context of the report of international organizations on the need for post-disaster assistance for the reconstruction of the country through the conference to be held in Geneva.
The international conference will begin with the words of Foreign Minister, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. He will also preside over two sessions of the conference in Geneva. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres will preside over the initial part of the global conference. Heads of state, ministers, and representatives of various countries will also address the initial part of the world conference in Geneva.
