The Peshawar High Court has lifted the ban on short video sharing app Tik Tok.

Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Qaiser Rashid heard the petition against uploading immoral content on Tik Tok.

During the hearing, besides the DGPTA, the petitioner’s counsel Sara Ali Khan appeared in the court.

The apex court, while delivering its verdict in the case, allowed the opening of the case.

It should be noted that the Peshawar High Court had last month ordered the closure of the Tik Tok app.

During the hearing, Chief Justice Qaiser Rashid Khan had said that the videos uploaded on Tik Tok were not acceptable in our society.

Chief Justice Peshawar High Court said that obscenity was spreading in the society through Tik Tok videos so it should be stopped immediately.

The Chief Justice had asked the DGPTA that closing the Tik Tok application would harm them. To which the DGPTA had replied that there would be a loss.

The DGPTA further told the court that we have applied to the Tik Tok officials but they have not yet responded positively.
