The management of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital has issued a red alert on the rising cases of corona virus in the federal capital Islamabad.

According to the District Health Officer (DHO) Islamabad, 15 government and private hospitals have been allotted for the treatment of Corona patients. Oxygen beds have been completely filled in three hospitals for Corona patients.

The DHO said that 4 hospitals allotted for corona patients have filled ventilators, there is no more capacity, out of 163 oxygen beds in PIMS hospital, 120 corona patients have been filled.

The DHO said that out of 70 oxygen beds in the IHITC hospital for infectious diseases, 50 are corona patients, 24 out of 27 oxygen beds in the polyclinic hospital are corona patients while CDA hospital has corona patients. Of the 43 oxygen beds, 32 have corona patients.

According to the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), a total of 64% of corona patients in Islamabad are filled with ventilators.


On the other hand, vaccine registration of healthcare workers has been stopped in Islamabad. Sources said that vaccine registration of healthcare workers has been suspended for a week.

The total number of coronavirus deaths across the country has risen to 14,256, while the total number of patients has risen to 659,116.
