Sixty-one more deaths and 3,495 new cases of COVID-19 were reported across the country during the last twenty-four hours.
According to latest statistics, 577,501 patients have so far recovered from the disease.
According to the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) the total number of deaths from coronavirus in Pakistan has reached 13,717 while the total number of infected people jumped to 615,810. Whereas the active cases toll is 24,592. So far, 577,501 people have recovered from Coronavirus.
The highest number of deaths due to coronavirus was recorded in Punjab where 5,896 people lost their lives whereas Sindh recorded 4,469 deaths, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported 2,188 deaths, 531 deaths reported in Islamabad, 103 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 202 in Balochistan and 328 in Azad Kashmir.
Since outbreak of the virus in Pakistan, the total number of infected people in Islamabad reached 49,476, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recorded 77,433 infections, Sindh reported 262,307 cases, Punjab reported 19,186 cases, Balochistan recorded 19,269 infections, 11,264 people got infected with virus in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan recorded 4,965.
Coronavirus vaccination campaign is underway in Pakistan and in the second phase, people over the age of 60-69 and above 70 are being vaccinated.
It should be noted here that Pakistan on Wednesday received more 500,000 doses of the Chinese based novel coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine sinopharm.
