Despite very limited fiscal space, the Government has decided that the prices of Petrol and High Speed Diesel will remain unchanged.

According to Finance Division, the Government has been absorbing the upward price fluctuation in international market in order to provide maximum relief to the end consumers.

It said no Petroleum Levy is being charged on Kerosene and Light Diesel and its prices have been marginally increased by 3.42 rupees per litre and 2.19 rupees per litre respectively due to significant rise in the international prices of Petroleum Products.

The new prices would be effective from tonight for the 2nd fortnight of the current month. New price of Kerosene will be 83.61 rupees per litre while Light Diesel Oil will be sold out at the rate of 81.42 rupees per litre.
