Prime Minister Imran Khan has appointed Justice (retd) Sheikh Azmat Saeed as the head of the Broadsheet Inquiry Committee.

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Senator Shibli Faraz, said in a tweet on the social networking site that “Justice (retd) Sheikh Azmat Saeed will be the head of the Broadsheet Inquiry Committee.”

Meanwhile, Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry also tweeted in this regard and said that the remaining members of the committee will be appointed in consultation with Justice (retd) Sheikh Azmat Saeed.

It may be recalled that two days ago, the federal cabinet had constituted a five-member inquiry committee to probe the Broadsheet case and identify the beneficiaries.

After the meeting of the federal cabinet, Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry and Minister for Human Rights Shirin Mazari said in a press conference that will consist of a senior officer, a senior lawyer and an officer nominated by the Prime Minister.

He said that the terms of reference (TORs) of the committee have been prepared under which it will complete its investigation within 45 days.
