The 13-ft tall monolith, as mysterious as the first one, has surfaced in Romania.  Mount Ceahlau on one side, which is one of the seven natural wonders of Romania. The ‘new’ monolith, however, is different from the one found in Utah.

The mystery of a shiny monolith in a desert in Utah, disappeared without a trace, sparking speculation that it could have been the work of aliens, but now the triangular metallic pillar was found a few metres away from an ancient landmark Petrodava Dacian Fortress in Romania’s Piatra Neamt, as per a report in the Daily Mail.

The monolith found in Romania has a mirrored surface and appears to have been covered with graffiti. Some say it could very well be the copy of the Utah monolith after its discovery fired up the minds of conspiracy theorists and sci-fi fans on social media.

But like Utah, the origin of the monolith in Romania has left officials baffled

The discovery in Romania has come even as questions persist about the origin and then the disappearance of a shiny monolith in the remote desert of Utah.

The mysterious metal, which sparked a guessing game over how it got there, disappeared after its discovery on November 18.

News of the discovery in Utah has gone viral, with many noting the object’s similarity with strange alien monoliths that trigger huge leaps in human progress in Stanley Kubrick’s classic sci-fi film “2001: A Space Odyssey.”

Others remarked on its discovery during a turbulent year that has seen the world gripped by the Covid-19 pandemic, and optimistically speculated it could have a different function entirely.
