KARACHI: First-ever successful brain Tumor surgery at a government hospital in Pakistan. This surgery completed at the Gambat Institute of Medical Science(GIMS), Sindh.

“Usually private hospitals charging Rs 20 to Rs 25 million for this complicated surgery. There is no arrangement for this kind of surgery in government hospitals in Pakistan. But we have made it possible and done it free of cost.” Told Dr. Rahim Bux Bhatti, head of GIMS.

This is good news for Pakistan that a government hospital in Pakistan became capable to handle such kind of very difficult surgery. The surgery was done by Surgeon Dr. Amjad Qureshi. Patient 30 years Rehana from Larkana belongs to a poor family. The patient now recovering in the hospital. The GIMS is fully funded by the Sindh government.
