Keeping in view the prevailing COVID-19 conditions, Thar Foundation and Engro Energy Limited is taking efforts to continue technical education for local youth of Tharparkar. In this endeavor, Thar Foundation has resumed its academic sessions at Government Polytechnic Institute (GPI) Mithi through distance learning under Zoom software. The first online class for “Metallurgy” held yesterday and attended by most of the students despite limited cyber connectivity.
However, efforts are being taken to maximize attendance. Classes at GPI Mithi had remained suspended since the declaration of the lockdown, but today the teachers and the Principal decided that these tough times will not be a hindrance in our efforts towards provision of technical education and uplifting the Thari youth. Engro Energy Limited and Thar Foundation are providing technical assistance to the college to use cyber means for uninterrupted technical education during lockdown.
