The Awami National Party (ANP), which left the opposition coalition Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), announced its support for the PML-N in Karachi.
In the by-election on NA-249 in Karachi, the ANP announced its support for Muslim League leader and candidate Miftah Ismail.
The ANP had brought Aurangzeb Buneri from NA-249, but the Awami National Party withdrew its candidate in favor of Miftah Ismail.
ANP Sindh General Secretary Younis Buneri while talking to media said that ANP candidate Haji Aurangzeb Khan has resigned in favor of Muftah Ismail as per party decision.
He said that we are democratic people, we are free to make our own decisions, we have not been a part of PDM but our struggle for democracy will continue.
Younis Buneri also said that he had decided to support Muftah Ismail after consulting the Provincial Advisory Council.
PML-N candidate Miftah Ismail says ANP’s decision to withdraw in favor of PML-N candidate is a welcome step.
It should be noted that the ANP had announced its resignation from the PDM yesterday on the show cause of PML-N leader and former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
