Pakistan and Tajikistan have reiterated the commitment to further strengthen their bilateral relations in diverse fields.
The resolve was expressed during delegation level talks between the two countries in Dushanbe.
Pakistani side was led by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in the talks whilst the Tajik side by its Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin.
Both the sides stressed the need to further strengthen and make vibrant the institutional mechanisms such as the Joint Ministerial Commission and Joint Working Groups.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan’s Gwadar port provides Tajikistan the shortest route to Southeast Asia, Middle East and Africa. He said the port can prove to be instrumental in increasing the trade volume between Pakistan and Tajikistan.
The Foreign Minister said both the countries enjoy close fraternal ties. He said our relations are deep rooted in common faith and cultural values.
