Government is all set to launch an interest-free package of loans for low-income private schools.
Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood said this during a meeting with a delegation of the Supreme Council of All Private Schools Association, in Islamabad.
According to details, the measure is aimed at providing them financial support in this testing time due to COVID-19.
Shafqat Mahmood said the government will make all-out efforts to open schools as soon as possible. He said keeping in view the current situation, the summer vacations will be reduced.
He added that the decision regarding the exams scheduled in March would be taken in the Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference meeting on Monday.
He said the meeting will also consult about the start of the annual educational year in August rather than March.
Earlier, Mahmood tweeted that he is equally concerned about the schools closure.
