ZAGREB: A 6.4 magnitude earthquake hit central Croatia with an epicenter some 50 kilometres southeast of the capital Zagreb, Croatian state television reported.
According to the details, one of the strongest earthquakes of recent years rocked Croatia in a result of which rooftops were collapsed in Petrinja, home to some 20,000 people, and left the streets covered with bricks and other rubble.
Rescue operations ate underway, rescue workers and the army were deployed to search for trapped residents, so far no casualties reported.
Electricity supply was also cut in the city centre.
