Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi had a telephone conversation with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Hassan Shoukry in which the two Foreign Ministers agreed to make joint efforts to promote bilateral economic cooperation between Pakistan and Egypt.
During the talks, important regional and global issues of mutual interest, including the development of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Egypt in various fields, and the overall law and order situation in the region were discussed.
During the telephone call, the two Foreign Ministers also agreed to continue bilateral consultations between Pakistan and Egypt in various fields of mutual interest and to continue consultations on important regional and global issues.
On the occasion, the Foreign Minister drew the attention of his Egyptian counterpart to the grave human rights violations in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and called on the international community to play an effective role in rescuing the oppressed Kashmiris from Indian tyranny.
The Foreign Minister thanked the Egyptian Foreign Minister for supporting the resolutions on Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Islamophobia presented at the 47th Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Niamey.
Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that bilateral fraternal relations between Pakistan and Egypt are based on common religious and cultural values while similarities between Pakistan and Egypt in major international forums including UN and OIC are welcome.
