The death toll from boiler explosion at a factory in Karachi has climbed to nine as one more person succumbed to his wounds during treatment on Tuesday night, local media reported.
Earlier in the day, a boiler exploded in a factory located in New Karachi Industrial Area near Saba cinema, killing eight persons on the spot and injuring 30 others
Rescue officials and law enforcement agencies personnel reached the spot. The district police have cordoned off the area.
A spokesman of Sindh Rangers said that Rangers personnel have reached the accident site and are engaged in rescue operations with rescue teams.
On the other hand, the director of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Dr Salma Kausar, said that so far 10 injured people have been brought to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital out of which 2 have died.
He said that 8 injured persons are present in Abbasi Shaheed Hospital out of which 3 are in critical condition while more injured people are being brought to the hospital.
