LAHORE: Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), while defying the warnings of terror threat issued by Law enforcement agencies (LEAs) will be staging anti-government protest at Minar e Pakistan in Lahore today.

According to the details, the LEAs have been placed at the highest alert in Punjab province in general and in the capital city of Lahore in particular in the wake of fresh terror threats issued by the National Counter-Terrorism Authority (NACTA) for the PDM Lahore Jalsa.

The letter conveyed to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Khwaja Saad Rafique, Ayaz Sadiq and Rana Sanaullah by Lahore police shed light on the plans hatched by the terrorists against the PDM gathering.

The anti-Govt alliance is insistent on holding a rally in Lahore today despite the provincial government denying permission for a public gathering citing the rise in COVID-19 infections and despite the threat alert.

A stage is set up on the steps of Minar-e-Pakistan while chairs are being set up on the ground at the forefront. Generators have been hooked up and light installed for the rally beside the all-important sound system.
