The Pakistan Democratic (PDM) leadership will meet in Islamabad on December 8.

According to sources, the PDM leadership will review options including resignations from assemblies, conducting long march or holding negotiations with the government.

The meeting is also expected to discuss matters related to the formation of a joint team for the back-door contacts.

Recommendations in this regard have been sought from the political parties of the alliance.

However, the Local administration of Lahore had rejected a request from PDM leadership to hold a public gathering at the Minar-e-Pakistan owing to rising COVID-19 cases.

Deputy Commissioner Lahore Mudassar Riaz Malik while divulging details on the reasons behind the rejection, had said that only 300 people are allowed to gather under the COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs).

“Even this permission is for the wedding ceremonies,” he had said.

Earlier, while addressing the PDM Multan rally, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman had said that there would be protests all over the country on Friday and Saturday against the violence in Multan.

He had also congratulated the people of Multan for participating in the successful and historic gathering.
