The government has decided to re-examine the SOPs set up for mosques due to the rampant increase in the coronavirus caseload.
According to the details, the President has called for a video conference of the four governors and scholars today. Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar will attend the conference along with 15 Ulema. Federal Interior Minister and Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Noor-ul-Haq Qadri will also attend.
President said that all sections must fulfill their responsibility to protect Coronavirus. While criticizing the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), President said that the Opposition Alliance must stop putting the lives of people at risk by organizing public gatherings.
To date, with fresh inclusion of the infections in the country the national tally of cases now currently stands at 406,810.
According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), Pakistan has recorded 3,499 new cases and 39 deaths due to the COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
According to the Government’s portal, 39 more people succumbed to the dread virus, taking the death toll to 8,205.
1,586 patients have recovered from the virus during the last 24 hours and 2,469 patients are in critical condition. The current toll of active cases stands at 51,654.
A total of 42,904 tests were conducted across the country during this period. 346,951 people have recovered from the deadly disease while 5,627,539 samples have been tested so far.
