The dead body of Begum Shamim Akhtar, the mother of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif, has been brought to Lahore from London on Saturday (today).
As per the details, the body was brought to Lahore viaa British Airways flight. members of the Sharif family and PML-L leaders and workers received it at the Allama Iqbal International airport.
The Sister of Nawaz Sharif Kosar also arrived in Lahore.
It is pertinent to mention that the Funeral prayers of Begum Shamim Akhtar will be held in Lahore today. Prayers will be offered at the Sharif Medical City Raiwind at 1:30 pm. She will be buried in Jati Umrah.
Sources said that the Qul ceremony will be held at Jati Umra.
PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shahbaz were released on parole on Friday (today).
As per the details, both were released on five-day parole before the funeral of Shahbaz’s mother Begum Shamim Akhtar.
Punjab Home Department said parole is a legal right of Shahbaz and Hamza. Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar had requested the court for the temporary release of Shahbaz and Hamza to the provincial cabinet for approval.
