The mother of the former prime minister and current Leader of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Nawaz Sharif, Begum Shamim has passed away.
In February this year, Begum Shamim Akhter departed for London to see her ailing son Nawaz Sharif.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said Begum Shamim was advised not to travel in the light of her health and age.
But, she insisted to remain present with Nawaz Sharif as he undergoes medical treatment in London.
