Pakistan sealed the T20 series with a comprehensive win in the second T20 international on Sunday as they restricted the visitors to a below-par 134/7 and then comfortably knocked the total off with 4.5 overs and eight wickets to spare.
With the series in the bag, they may rotate their team for this final match of Zimbabwe’s tour although they will be desperate to avoid defeat like the ODI series where they lost the final match.
Pakistan vice-captain Shadab Khan is expected to play today’s final T20I as Daily Jang has reported but if he is unlikely to recover from injury in time, Usman Qadir could keep his place after an exceptional performance on Sunday although Imad Wasim, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Musa could all rotate into the side.
On the other hand, Zimbabwe fell pretty short of pushing Pakistan in the second T20 match as their total when batting first was never going to be enough and they along with the hosts will likely want to see the tourists chase a total in this third and final game.
Pakistan has won the T20 series they will be desperate to avoid what happened in the ODI series where they lost the third game by sealing a whitewash here.
The gulf in quality has been more pronounced in the T20s compared to the ODIs and it is hard to see Zimbabwe even coming close in this final game unless Pakistan really do ease off the gas. That upset in the third ODI will serve as a warning sign for them that they cannot be complacent and that should be sufficient to motivate them here.
Pitch and conditions
The pitches prepared for this series have been dry and flat, and expect that to remain unchanged tomorrow. Rain should not be a factor.
