Earlier, in the third and final ODI of the series played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Zimbabwe captain Chamu Chibhabha saw the toss coin turn in his favour and decided to bat first and gave the host’s team a target of 279 runs to win.
After Pakistan scored four runs in the third ball of the inning, Imam-ul-Haq was bowled by Blessing Muzarabani while Richard ended Fakhr Zaman’s inning in the next over.
Haider announced his arrival with three fours as soon as he arrived but a full stop was put in front of his inning at 13, after which Mohammad Rizwan also failed to play a big inning and was dismissed for 10 for 51. However, Iftikhar Ahmed scored 18 runs to support captain Babar Azam but the team could not reach 100 runs and were dismissed for 88 runs.
