Morocco’s Foreign Ministry in a statement termed the publication of cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad as an act of provocation.
In Egypt, the Grand imam of Al-Azhar University, Sheikh Ahmad el-Tayeb termed the anti-Islam remarks as a “systematic campaign to drag Islam into political battles”.
Yemeni Minister of Religious Affairs Ahmad Attiya also endorsed calls for boycotting French products in response to the anti-Islam campaigns.
