UMERKOT: This flood was not a national but an international disaster, which has displaced lacs of people in Sindh, left them with empty bellies, shelterless, inundated their crops, giving an economical crunch.
This was expressed by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, while addressing workers and flood-affected people at Kharoro Syed, at a tent city Umerkot – Ratnor road, and manjhakar Kunri here on Thursday.
He also visited the tent city at Umerkot Chhachhro road, where he met flood-affected people in their tents, some Hindu girls performed Aarti and prayed for long life of Bilawal.
He said today people of the district and he himself misses Syed Ali Mardan Shah, who always stood with his voters in the time of test. He said there was an imported politician from Multan, who grabbed thousands of votes from Umerkot and Tharparkar diatricts, who has always extorted money from people of this region in the name of spirituality, but why he is missing nowadays.
Why he as a foreign minister did not attract the world to help the people of Sindh. He said he would have to bring his PM to Umerkot and make him feel the pain of flood-affected people. He urged the people not to let them escape if they visit until they announce a special relief package like Watan Card as PPP had started during the 2011 floods, but the present federal government has left them helpless.
Not only this but the due share of Sindh in NFC has been forcibly digested by the federal government. He appealed philanthropists at the National and international world to come forward and help the flood-affected people.
He along CM Sindh met workers at Kharoro Syed. He said it has been a tradition of PPP that it has never left the people alone in a tough time. At this moment PPP and Sindh government has canceled all of its activities but have been standing with people.
He said Imran would have to own Sindh and its inmates. He will have to give rights to it, as he has provided to Punjab and other provinces, otherwise, he along the people of Sindh would march towards Islamabad. He said now soon he will play a non-stop long inning with the help of people.
Flood-affected youth especially women danced on the songs of PPP, they showered rose petals on his vehicle.
Provincial Minister Culture Syed Sardar Ali Shah said those who are among people are always among people. This is a reason, Bilawal has camped in Mirpurkhas division for four days, and without thinking of his security he mingles with flood-affected people.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Sardar Shah, Nawab Yousif Talpur, Nawab Taimur Talpur, Dr. Khatumal Jeewan Qasim Siraj Soomro, and other party leaders were also present.
