Former Pakistan Cricket team captain Sarfaraz Ahmed didn’t want to play final T20I vs England; had to be convinced by Babar, Younis, Misbah, media reported on Tuesday.

As per reports, Sarfaraz Ahmed didn’t want to play the final T20I of the England tour after being benched for the entire series.

The turn of events in former skipper life has been dramatic. After the 2019 World Cup debacle, the veteran wicket-keeper batsman was removed as captain of the national team from all formats. He made a return to the squad for the tour of England but didn’t feature for until the final T20I of the series. As per reports, Sarfaraz didn’t want to play in that match either but had to be convinced by the captain and the coaches.

Sarfaraz had deep reservations about playing in the final outing of the series after being benched for two Tests and the first two T20Is. After being informed about him being selected in the playing XI for the third T20I, Sarfaraz reportedly wasn’t keen on putting himself in the spotlight. Skipper Babar Azam, coaches Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan then spoke to him and convinced him to play.
