Traders’ organizations in other cities, including Karachi, Lahore and Gujranwala, today announced their support for a nationwide transport strike.
All Karachi Traders Union, Karachi Traders Alliance, Karachi Traders Association, Banquet Hall Association and Anjuman-e-Tajiran Sindh in their statements have fully supported the wheel jammed strike on the call of Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman.
The statement said that all business activities in Karachi will be suspended and shopping malls, markets and transport will remain closed.
The Dealers Association has also announced closure of petrol and CN stations in Karachi.
The All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajiran in Lahore and the Central Anjuman-e-Tajiran in Gujranwala have also announced their full support for the strike.
The Sindh Bar Council has condemned the incidents in Lahore and announced a strike of lawyers. According to the statement, lawyers across Sindh will not appear in courts today.
