Gilgit: Famous Pakistani climber Muhammad Ali Sadpara and two other foreign climbers have not been able to return from the highest altitude after the winter adventure of the world’s second highest peak K2, even after 36 hours of no communication with the climbers. Due to bad weather and strong winds, the helicopter search operation for the climbers was not successful.
According to reports, Ali Sadpara was accompanied by two foreign climbers, John Sinori of Iceland and John Pablo of Chile, who crossed the bottle nick yesterday afternoon and left for the summit at the highest point of the peak, about 36 hours later. The three climbers have not yet returned, nor have they been contacted. A search operation was conducted by helicopter today to search for the three missing climbers, but the rescue operation was successful due to bad weather and strong snow.
Ground rescue team has also been enlisted to search for the climbers. Meanwhile, Sajid Sadpara, son of Ali Sadpara, who was involved in the winter adventure, returned to base camp this evening after spending the night at Camp 3. He had to leave the mission due to a malfunction in the oxygen cylinder regulator at the nearby bottleneck. According to rescue sources, if the weather is favorable tomorrow, a search operation will be conducted again to find the three climbers.
