ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi denied Friday’s speculation that relations have sown between Islamabad and Riyadh, adding that the “support and need” of the two countries was mutual.
“The relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are, and always have been, stronger,” the foreign minister told Geo News. “I think nobody knows the complexity of our relationships with each other. We’re the need and help of each other,” he said.
He pointed to the stance of Saudi Arabia on Israel’s issue, adding that the kingdom had not strayed from its historic position on the issue and that Pakistan held the same view.
FM Qureshi said Gen Bajwa had visited Riyadh recently where he held important meetings. He expressed the desire for future meetings on important issues with Saudi Arabia, hoping that both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia fulfill each other’s goals and aspirations.
