UMERKOT: Umerkot police has failed to arrest the main accused in the alleged murder of Janta Malhi, AIG Ghulam Qadir Thebo has also taken the notice and called the report.
According to details one and a half month before a body of Janta Malhi 18, daughter of laborer Magho Malhi resident of Shewani Mohla was found hanging in a kitchen on 21st May. Which was said to be a suicide, but from day first heirs were not ready to accept it as suicide, who was crying that it’s a murder.
Magho Malhi told media that he ran from pillar to post but Umerkot police didn’t register his murder case. Even the postmortem report of his daughter couldn’t be surfaced after the passing of a month. Later he filed an application under section 22-A before the court, in which additional District and Session Judge was pleased to order the registration of an FIR against three accused persons. But again, he was kept waiting for 24 hours at PS, finally, a week before her murder case was registered against three accused namely Jai Parkash son of Bhojjomal Harchandani, Mangha Ram son of Giyan Chand Malhi, and Kamlesh son of Arjun Das Malhi.
Later two accused were produced before police, identified as Mangha Ram son of Giyan Chand Malhi, and Kamlesh son of Arjun Das Malhi. While the main accused Parkash was not arrested. He told this scribe that a year before his deceased daughter was engaged with Jai Parkash, but as they came to know about his character they broke the engagement three months back.
Later all three accused used to harras and blackmail his daughter with threats of death. On 21st May they all were out of home, the accused found Janta alone and killed her. Later they hanged her to color the death as a suicide. Added that Jai Parkash was arrested on the day of the murder, but police released him on a phone call of a political person.
They had been staging protest demonstration, since the day of the murder to the registration of FIR, later they continued the same practice for the arrest of accused, which has resulted that AIG called them a day before and assured them for justice. They demanded immediate arrest of the main accused and justice.
Most of the murders are coloured as suicides and suicides are coloured as mental disorders
