Rejecting rumours and speculations about recognizing Israel, Pakistan has categorically said that it is not recognizing Israel.

A spokesman for the Foreign Office said in a statement that no proposal for recognition of Israel is under consideration and Pakistan rejects any speculation about the recognition of Israel.

The spokesman said that in this context, Prime Minister Imran Khan’s statement is clear that Pakistan cannot surrender to Israel until the Palestinian issue is resolved.

The spokesman said that Pakistan supports the right of Palestine to self-determination and the issue of Palestine should be resolved in accordance with the UN and OIC resolutions.

On November 17, the Pakistani Foreign Office dismissed reports of US pressure on the prime minister to recognize Israel, saying that the prime minister had said he could not recognize Israel until a just solution had been found.

The State Department said it supported Palestine, which has a pre-1967 border and a capital, Jerusalem, and a two-state solution in accordance with UN, OIC resolutions and international law.
