Pakistani Skipper Babar Azam ahead of the New Zealand tour said, We have no pressure but we do have confidence that we will do well”.

Wearing a formal attire, Pakistani Skipper addressed the media on Friday, “No opponent can be taken easy but if we do a head-to-head comparison with New Zealand, our team is also very good; We have no pressure but we do have confidence that we will do well”

He said that “I was struggling in Tests but I had good backing from the team management. I’d like to mention Mickey Arthur who really supported me and who said that the more support I got & the more I played, the better I will become”

Babar Azam said “PCB have given me a lot of confidence, to not worry about short term results & that I’m in their long term plans. They’ve told me to play freely & there’s no pressure from them about results. They’ve given me the freedom to captain & play as well as I can”

Thanking his teammates Sarfaraz Ahmed and Azhar Ali, Babar Azam said that he has not only learned from them but will also consult them whenever needed.

“I am the one responsible for making decisions but I will consult them too,” Babar Azam maintained. “I try to take responsibility and play with the same responsibility.”

“I am aiming to score a century in the upcoming New Zealand, Australia, and England tours,” he said.

Pakistan last toured New Zealand for a Test series four years ago, in 2016, with the hosts winning 2-0. Just two members from that side, Azhar Ali and Babar Azam are guaranteed starters. The first Test takes place in Mount Maunganui on December 26, with the second being played at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on January 3.
