LAHORE: Lahore’s Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Umar Shaikh has offered apology after his bizarre remarks that caused outrage on social media and had led people t o demand his removal from the position.

According to details, While talking to media on Monday he said,

“I apologize if my statement has hurt the sentiments of anyone. I did not want to create any wrong impression,” he said.

CCPO Umar Sheikh while talking about the horrific incident blamed the woman, who was allegedly raped by two robbers on the motorway, for her route choice and not checking the fuel before leaving for the travel.

On September 09, a woman was travelling on the motorway along with her children when her car ran out of the fuel. She was waiting for help when two men appeared from the roadside. They broke the car window and took her to the nearby forested area.

The suspect gang raped the woman in front of her children and later took away her belongings including ATM cards, cash, jewellery and car registration card.
